Manual Physiotherapy
Manual physiotherapy is the set of physical techniques that use manual mechanical stimuli to evaluate or treat body tissues, whether muscle, myofascial, joint, etc.
Objective
Manual physiotherapy at our physiotherapy center in Almería is the recovery of the normal function and movement of body structures, as well as finding relief from the pain that is suffered and promoting their recovery.
En manual therapy
We use mobilizations, inhibitions, joint techniques, massage therapy, and many other techniques, in order to recover the tissue from any affectation that it could present (injury, contracture, radiculopathies, etc.). In addition, the decrease in muscle tone and the stimulation of the orthosympathetic system will be one of the great benefits of manual therapy, since such stimulation will produce a reflex response from the affected tissues.
Massage therapy
Massage therapy is the set of techniques performed with the hands or some external agent that are performed to relax the muscles through pressure, sliding and friction. With these techniques we manage to remove all the tension from the muscle and thereby relieve pain or overload and take pressure off the tendons and joints.
Functional bandage
The functional bandage consists of the use of bandages or tape of different hardnesses to reduce or immobilize the movement of a joint that has some pathology that requires it or to prevent possible relapses in injuries that are being treated or finished healing.
Lymphatic drainage
It is a set of specialized massage therapy techniques that mobilizes and drains the accumulation of lymphedema or subcutaneous edema, helping its reabsorption and controlling possible pathologies associated with the accumulation of lymph or subcutaneous hematomas.
Invasive Physiotherapy
Invasive Physiotherapy is known as the set of techniques in which one or more solid needles are used on the patient’s skin and percutaneously applies physical agents to the musculoskeletal tissue.
Our physiotherapy clinic in Almería considers the use of ultrasound to be essential as a diagnostic method and guide in the face of invasive treatment.

We are experts in the invasive method
At Jorge Rodriguez Physiotherapy we are experts in therapies that use the invasive method to treat a multitude of problems, such as dry needling, electropuncture, neuromodulation or Intratissue Percutaneous Electrolysis (EPI).
Dry needling
Use the needle as a physical agent to eliminate a contracture or trigger point. In the case of needing it, it is also combined with electricity to eliminate the associated pain of said painful point.
EPI ® Percutaneous Intratissue Electrolysis
This technique was invented by Dr. José Manuel Sánchez with whom our team has been trained, in addition to this training we have been updating ourselves over the years, since it is such an innovative and powerful technique that science has been discovering different applications and methodologies. The technique consists of the use of the needle in an ultrasound-guided way as a means of conducting a galvanic current that, when it comes into contact with the tissue, produces an electrical reaction, modifying it and activating a controlled inflammation that helps us to repair said tissue, whether it is a tendon. , a scar or a muscle tear, among others.
Neuromodulation
It consists of stimulating the nerve helping us with the ultrasound to locate and stimulate it through the needle and thereby achieve its proper functioning or eliminate certain pains such as sciatica or carpal tunnel.
Sports rehabilitation
Sports readaptation consists of the recovery of the muscles and mobility through physical exercise, either due to a sports pathology or a loss of strength and mobility after an operation or prolonged bedridden or illness.
Can address
From a multidisciplinary point of view, any problem arising from sports practice or daily life.
Enter the most frequent
We can find muscle tears, plantar fasciitis, bursitis, groin pain, ankle sprains, tendinopathies (patellar tendon, Achilles tendon, rotator cuff, psoas…), tennis elbow, among others. They can be classified into two: rehabilitation of activities of daily living or sports rehabilitation.
Readaptation of activities of daily living:
This part of physiotherapy is one of the most unknown, it consists of the recovery of the basic functions of the body to carry out daily activities such as walking, going up and down stairs, fastening shoes or even enough coordination to drive again. . This is done through multiple exercises, tasks, and activities that are performed with the patient based on their needs. At Jorge Rodriguez Physiotherapy we have all the necessary materials to perform these exercises.
Readaptation to sports effort:
After an injury in a professional or amateur athlete, or an interruption in regular training for some reason, it is necessary to put the muscles and joints back in order to be able to practice this sport safely and without risk of relapses or other different injuries. For this, at Jorge Rodriguez Fisioterapia we have all the possible means to ensure that our athletes can return to their usual training and ensure that their sports practice is as safe as possible after an injury and that they achieve their goals.
